Act as the Capital Program’s resource for ensuring CAD drawings are kept current, accurate, and are easily accessible to end users. Department liaison for EAM effort. Maintain/update CAD standards; create and update Engineering drawings; coordinate with GIS Manager to update latest information to the baseline GIS drawing.
Review and evaluate design drawings at various submittal phases to ensure for consistency with CAD standards. Verify as-built CAD deliverables, and merge, when appropriate, into baseline CAD drawings of Metro-North assets, to form the new updated baseline drawing.
Work with asset owners, Capital project managers, company GIS Manager, and EAM Consultants to achieve consensus, establish, maintain, manage, and enforce CAD standards (layering protocol, metadata and labelling requirements, asset identification conventions, coordinate system and geo-referencing, etc.)—including any necessary changes to the procurement boilerplate requirements. Ensure that latest baseline CAD drawings and submittals on all Capital projects are made available for import into the Enterprise GIS system. Work as assigned, to verify, correct, and update existing CAD drawings as determined by company needs. Establish baseline CAD drawings of major Metro-North assets and facilities based on best information currently available. This may include: merging multiple CAD deliverables from numerous project as-builds, prior survey deliverables.
Manage and oversee Consultant EAM project aimed at modernizing Plan Room systems and processes. Ensure drawing submittals previously catalogued are tagged with proper and appropriate metadata, location, keywords, and indices, making system more searchable. Organize the Plan Room drawings and documents in both hard form and in document management system to ensure documents are accounted for, accurate information, and easily retrieved upon request.
Provide support to the Assistant Director of Technical Support in whatever capacity needed to ensure customer’s needs are technically addressed so they can effectively manage projects and associated documentation. Includes but not limited to: Create and manage databases and Web pages.

Ability to build coalitions to implement initiatives, act as internal advocate, and contractor point of contact for CAD and GIS issues.
Demonstrated ability to develop CAD standards and specifications in an engineering discipline.
Hands-on working with AutoCAD systems.
Must be organized, detail oriented, with proven ability to motivate and manage ad-hoc teams, and to move initiatives forward.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide range of personnel with different job functions and varying degrees of subject matter understanding.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, and/or comparable applications.
Experience in CAD file management and version control for engineering drawings.
Experience with defining and implementing internal standards, business process, and protocols, particularly as it relates to CAD.
Ability to understand railroad operations and engineering organizational cultures.
Experience using latest version of AutoCAD; Microstation, Experience with 3D and 4D modelling in CAD, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Asset management experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible Engineering/Architectural experience, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience with CAD to include providing and coordinating the production of CAD deliverables.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing staff, projects, and/or processes.
Asset Management Certifications (e.g. ISO 55000:2014, IAM, or equivalent).

As an employee of Metro-North Railroad you may be required to complete a New York State financial disclosure statement, if you earn more than $91,821.00 or if you hold a position designated as a policy maker.
