This is project position within Utility Technologies:

This is a "Project" position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

Provide on-going development and production support needs for systems utilized by AM&CS and the Utility.  Work with Team Members to provide analytical and functional support. Partner with associates across departments to facilitate system support and business processes. Work with team members on project teams to develop business requirements, and create and execute use cases. Assist team members with the creation of business processes, develop and communicate relevant documentation, including training materials related to system and process changes. Major duties include analyzation of facilities records and enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure that asset records are accurate and properly maintained and reported. Conduct training and enhance business processes.  Prepare reports from GIS and SAP (daily, monthly, annually and/or ad hoc) either oral or written for management personnel. Will partner with team members in establishing policy as to how the systems and the data provided by them, are to be used to support GIS goals and to extract the maximum value of GIS. Systems and system modules include, but are not limited to GIS, DWMS/CAD. Travel to various electric and gas operating locations will be required.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of GIS experience and GIS degree or 3 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Gas Distribution procedures and construction practices
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Access.
  • Demonstrate ability to locate and extract data from business systems and to produce ad-hoc reports.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Utility business processes.
  • Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity.
  • Must have excellent teamwork skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.


  • Experience GIS, DWMS, SAP and CAD processes.
  • SQL experience

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
