Position Summary

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst position is responsible for disseminating demographic data and analyst for the Government Consulting and Valuation Advisory (GoVal) department. This includes collecting and coalescing pertinent data, assisting in market analysis, and analyzing economic trends in designated regions. This position reports to a designated the GIS Manager on the GoVal team.

The position will also develop workflows using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Python.

Position Responsibilities

  • Distribute and create demographic information datasets of market area and economic trends which include employment, average wages, median incomes of market area and relation to demand of affordable housing in area
  • Conduct basic economic research regarding market areas
  • Utilize ArcGIS software to complete pull demographic data through Python
  • Update, debug, and execute Python code
  • Assist with building and implementing technology solutions to create efficiencies and support valuation teams

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Intermediate Python and Microsoft Visual Basic skills
  • Strong ArcGIS skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities
  • Display a strong interest in the real estate field
  • Show enthusiasm for and creativity in researching and developing process improvements
  • Prior experience in automating systems and creating efficiencies is helpful

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in related area plus 1-2 years of GIS experience (cartography, analysis, visualization), and/or appropriate balance of education and work experience. Intermediate understanding of Python, Microsoft Excel, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Other relevant coding experience will suffice.
