Description of Work
Salary range for this position is $56,339 - $60,000. The candidate for this position will be working for the Department of Information Technology (DIT), under the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Information Technology Services Division, with primary support for the Division of Marine Fisheries. Candidate will work with ESRI software suite of data (coverages, shapefiles, geodatabases) to create map product s (digital and hard copy), perform GIS analysis, and provide geospatial GIS support for Marin e Fisheries sections and programs, primarily for the Fisheries Information and Management Support System (FIM SS) project. Data analysis of the biological database, creation of digit al and hardcopy mapping product s, and interaction w it h Marine Fisheries staff on GIS processes and software are responsibilities for this position. Products are used in Fisheries Management Plans, creating rules and proclamations, habitat modeling, and internet web mapping applications.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development; or Bachelor's degree and some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development; or Associate's degree in Computer Programming and two years of experience in application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary range for this position is $56,339 - $60,000 and will be commensurate with the applicant’s competencies, as well as budget, equity and market considerations. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.
