Dewberry is currently seeking a GIS Analyst to provide onsite GIS expertise in support of a diverse environmental/engineering office including but not limited to transportation related infrastructure projects, environmental investigations and environmental impact documents. This is a full time position and will be located in our Parsippany, New Jersey office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide visualization support, geospatial analysis, geospatial services, and geospatial data management for decision making at the assigned location
  • Creation of detailed cartographic and geospatial analysis products
  • Development of geospatial analysis requirements
  • Acquisition and maintenance of geospatial data
  • Quality assurance and quality control
  • Upkeep of the data inventory
  • Development and maintenance of metadata
  • Interface with CADD and Microstation

Required Skills & Required Experience:

  • Successful completion of a 4-year degree in a relevant subject area.
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience with ArcGIS desktop 10.1.
  • Familiar with geospatial data creation, import/export, and manipulation.
  • The candidate must be able to create and/or modify data schemas, assimilate disparate data sources, and import/export data layers as required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism in the workplace.
  • Excellent written communication and writing skills are a must
  • Good analytical / problem solving skills
  • A basic understanding of the concepts behind data management in a relational database
  • Good IT technical skills
